Eurodesk Germany CEMEA is an education movement, set up in 1937, which chose training as a mean of passing on its ideas.

It is also a pedagogical movement involved in projects in and around the school.

Throughout the 60 years of its existence, CEMEA has strived to bring together people concerned by educational issues, an education to which everyone is entitled, children, adolescents, and adults alike, and which produces situations whereby each and everyone of us can develop a community awareness and responsability with a view to individual and social progress.

CEMEA's are to be found, throughout France, there are 30 regional organisations in France and its overseas territories, employing some 500 people and relying upon more than 4000 volunteers (social workers, youth workers, instructors, teachers and trainers).

CEMEA, through training, actively intervene in all those areas relating to educational, social and cultural activities :
first of all through the training of voluntary youth workers to supervise infants and young children in holiday and leisure centres.
also through the training of social work professionals.
training in areas such as school and teaching, early chilhood, psychiatry, senior citizens, new technology and monitoring of cultural events (international meetings are organised in Avignon, Bourges, La Rochelle and Aurillac during the festivals).

More than 40 000 trainees are trained by CEMEA's each year.
